What you'll do:
- Take ownership of budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes to ensure accuracy and clarity across the business.
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement stronger controls to enhance efficiency within the Transactional Finance function.
- Engage in statutory and technical reporting activities, including supporting new initiatives that drive business performance.
- Partner with various teams throughout the organisation to provide insightful analysis and improve overall performance.
- Spot cost-saving or revenue-generating opportunities by leveraging financial data and sharing clear recommendations.
- Transform complex finance data into accessible insights that inform decision-making at all levels of the company.
- Coach and develop a team of skilled finance professionals, fostering their growth through mentoring and support.
- Collaborate closely with the Group Financial Controller and another Finance Manager to maintain a high-performing finance team.
- Contribute to year-end group reporting and audit delivery by applying your technical expertise in accounting standards.
- Champion a proactive mindset within the team, encouraging continuous improvement and constructive challenge.
What you bring:
- ACA or ACCA qualification is highly desirable due to the technical reporting focus required for this role.
- A strong foundation in financial and tax reporting standards such as IFRS, UK GAAP, Corporation Tax, VAT, PAYE is essential for success.
- Experience delivering group year-end reporting and managing audit processes will enable you to contribute effectively from day one.
- Confidence analysing complex accounting topics and communicating them clearly to both finance professionals and non-finance stakeholders is crucial.
- A collaborative style that builds trust within teams while constructively challenging assumptions will set you apart.
- Curiosity about how the business generates value combined with an eagerness to learn will help you spot opportunities for improvement.
