Probate Solicitor

Salary: £30,000 - £50,000 per annum (pro rata), dependent on experience
Hours: Full-time / Part-time (Office-based)
Benefits: Pension scheme + 25 days annual leave + bank holidays

We are pleased to offer a rare opportunity to join a well-established, small private client firm with a strong reputation in the local community and a loyal, long-standing client base. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and highly organised Probate Solicitor to join our busy team.

This is a key position within the firm, requiring an experienced and self-sufficient professional with a strong background in private client work, particularly probate. You will manage your own caseload and play an integral role in delivering high-quality legal services to our clients.

• Managing a varied caseload of probate matters independently
• Handling Inheritance Tax issues and related planning
• Preparing and submitting applications for Grants of Probate and Letters of Administration
• Administering both new and existing estates
• Drafting estate accounts accurately and efficiently
• Working closely with the Accounts Department on costs and billing matters
• Maintaining regular client contact, providing clear updates on progress and costs

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

• Proven experience in probate administration (essential)
• Experience in Wills, Trusts, and Court of Protection work (desirable)
• Strong technical knowledge of probate law and procedures
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and use initiative
• Exceptional client care and communication skills
• A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion
