Start Date: Immediate (Thursday)

Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday

Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term (Potential Permanent Opportunity)

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

About the Role

This Primary School is seeking an experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistant (Level 2 preferred) to provide 1:1 support for a Year 3 pupil with physical needs related to hypermobility.

This is a rewarding opportunity for a compassionate and proactive individual who is passionate about helping children succeed. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the pupil's learning, wellbeing, and independence throughout the school day.

The position is available for an immediate start (Thursday) and is expected to be a long-term placement, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 3 pupil throughout the school day.
  • Support the pupil's access to learning within the classroom environment.
  • Assist with handwriting and recording work where required.
  • Support the pupil's physical needs, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Provide close supervision during playtimes and lunchtimes.
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and participation in school activities.
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo, and wider school staff to ensure the pupil receives appropriate support.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting.
  • A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (preferred).
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND and/or physical needs.
  • A patient, caring, and nurturing approach.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to adapt support to meet individual needs.
  • A proactive attitude and the confidence to work independently when required.
