Job Title: Caretaker
Contract Type: Fixed term for 2 years
Salary: £26,227.50 per annum
Working Hours: Full time 37.5 hours
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday- 9am to 5pm
Location:  Balls Road, Wirral

The difference you will make as a Caretaker
You will be responsible for the provision of a comprehensive caretaking service to ensure accommodation is secure and of the highest standard whilst providing an effective caretaking service for specified schemes.  

About you
We are looking for someone with:
•Proven experience in general maintenance / caretaking / handyman duties (e.g. minor repairs, basic plumbing, decorating, joinery, grounds upkeep).

•Ability to identify faults, assess what’s needed, and either complete repairs safely or report/escalate appropriately.

•Experience of working with contractors and monitoring repairs (e.g. logging issues, following up, checking work completed).

•Experience of maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation in communal areas and external spaces.

Role Profile
•Provide day-to-day housing management duties such as room checks, ensuring high standards of cleanliness are maintained within services (waste management) and that rooms are prepared, ready for site inspections.  

•Ensure that all services, communal equipment and fixtures and fitting are regularly visually inspected and maintained in good working order.

•Liaise with contractors and relevant colleagues to ensure repairs are carried out quickly and efficiently.  

•Report any necessary repairs and faults that are the responsibilities of our contractors.

•Carry out any basic repairs such as light bulb replacement, redecoration, patching plaster work, basic gardening, litter picking etc  

•Clean and prepare rooms promptly, ensuring voids are turned around to a high standard within agreed timescales.

•Carry out daily room checks, cleaning as needed and replenishing or replacing items where required.

•Order and monitor cleaning materials and equipment, whilst keeping an accurate records of purchases and deliveries.  

•Attend weekly void meetings, monitor progress, and order replacement item where rooms are placed into void for repairs.  

•Complete  inventories at move-in and carry out regular property checks alongside Wirral Council.

•Complete Electrical Visual Inspection Reports as and when required  

•Ensure compliance with Riverside’s Equality and Diversity policy, in respect of employment and service delivery.

•Ensure compliance with Riverside’s safeguarding policies and procedures in every aspect of service delivery.

•Any other relevant duties as required by the designated manager
