Job Title: Year 5 General Teaching Assistant
Location: Birkenhead

Wirral Pay: £100 - £125 per day
Working Pattern: Full-Time, Term-Time
Contract: Starting ASAP

Hays is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Birkenhead that is looking to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support a Year 5 class on a full-time basis. The school has a positive learning environment and is committed to helping pupils achieve their full potential both academically and personally.

Your new role

As a Year 5 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support pupils' learning and development across the curriculum. Your responsibilities will include assisting with whole-class activities, supporting small-group interventions in English and Maths, preparing learning resources, and helping pupils remain engaged and focused in lessons. You will also play a key role in promoting positive behaviour and ensuring pupils are supported throughout the school day.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• Previous experience working with primary-aged children, ideally within KS2
• Confidence supporting learning in English, Maths, and other curriculum areas
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• A proactive and flexible approach to supporting classroom learning
